Castle Vale

A fairy-tale wedding with 1000 years of story!

Caste Vale is only 30 minutes by car from Arezzo, and one hour by car from Florence, Siena, Cortona, Perugia and the Chianti region; it is located right at the gates of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park, in a beautiful valley rich of castles, monasteries and Romanesque parish churches, at an altitude of about 500 metres above sea level.

Driving up the winding road lined with tall cypress trees that lead up to the castle. With its thousand-years of history (the first settlement was born as a watch-tower during the late period of Lombard Kingdom - Regnum Langobardorum - between the end of 9th Century and the beginning of 10th Century), the castle now houses a stylish restaurant and a comfortable Residenza d’Epoca (Historical Residence). Inside the walls of the castle there is a consecrated Church.

At the castle you can say "I do" in the fascinating and beautiful church, or the ceremony can take place in the garden, followed by aperitif and wedding dinner in the terrace. 

The castles have large suites, all with marble bathrooms, and each room is decorated with a different style. From most of the rooms you have a panoramic view of the mountains of Pratomagno. The large double rooms easily allow accommodating additional beds or cribs upon request.

Today the castle maintains intact the pride of 1000 years of existence through the stern architecture of its walls, terraces and towers. If you choose to celebrate your wedding at the castle, it will be like living in a fairy tale. 

The living heart of the castle is the restaurant, with its distinctive cookery that has its roots in the history all around it, but that has been renewed and brightened up by the castle Chef; every month, he chooses recipes of his own creation and re-inventions of local dishes of traditional cookery.  Offering Tuscan specialties, with home-made pastas, vegetables cultivated on the spot, certified quality meat, and the purest water that pours out of an ancient spring.
