It was born of the desire to create and share a unique and welcoming place where nature meets luxury. The location that was chosen in Tuscany was essential to create a sense of calm, relaxation and wellbeing, and has enabled to transport guests far away from the stresses of the outside world. With a thirteenth-century villa at its heart, the hamlet is a haven where people come to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a taste of heaven. Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, luxury knows no limits. 

We arrange both civil (with mayor) and symbolic ceremony with a celebrant or a priest at the garden or in the courtyard, or just with a few kilometres you can say “I do” in one of Italy's most unique historic buildings, San Galgano! 

Hospitality couples with an environment where clarity of mind and food for the soul are abundant. The land is not only stunningly beautiful but also rich and fertile, providing a bounty of biodynamic vegetables, herbs and honey, which our kitchen transforms into culinary delights.

Dating back to the thirteenth century, the villa's spacious entrance hall has welcomed visitors and wayfarers for centuries. History can be felt here in the restored details and luxurious touches, from the enormous open fireplace in the hall to the individually styled rooms, which feature antiques, hand-painted frescoes, rich textiles and, in the case of our Vecchio suite, even an 800-year-old bread oven. The villa's historic splendour reaches its full expression in the Grand Suite, where a magnificent interior and exterior are crowned with a spectacular panorama of the surrounding landscape. 

Outside, the villa's courtyards and terraces offer havens of tranquillity, with the drifting scent of roses and meditative flow of fountains providing a sublime backdrop to a quiet nook with coffee and a good book or the ideal spot to enjoy a laid-back aperitivo with expansive views over the Valley. The gardens and fields surrounding the villa involved elaborate landscaping and the intensive planting of more than 300,000 plants, the place inspired to restore the estate to its former glory, local craftsmen worked with artisans from around the world. With plants, furniture and architectural details sourced throughout Italy and Europe.

The new spa has been constructed from natural local stone and features elements of water, light, fire and earth. The interior includes an inviting lounge with two grand fireplaces, opulent chandeliers, flickering candles, oversized sofas, vaulted ceilings, arched windows and an abundance of fresh flowers collected daily from the spa gardens. With two individual treatment rooms and two additional al-fresco garden therapy rooms the spa’s terrace features stone fountains and views over the Tuscan herb gardens. 

The biodynamic culinary garden lies at the heart of the hamlet to plate' philosophy, where the Michelin-star executive chefs design their plates from the source in collaboration with the culinary gardeners and local farmers. Only organic food is used in the delicious menus.

Wine tasting sessions with an award-winning sommelier. Art lessons where you can learn to paint with an artist or learn how to make your own beautiful bouquets with a gardener.

Archery can be arranged with instructor only, Golf 45 km from the venue. At the cooking school you can participate and learn from the venue’s chefs. Playground is situated in the far end of the garden and children’s dvd’s and books are located in the library. “Cinema paradiso” movie nights are held every Thursday evening in the gardens where we show classic Italian-themed films. 

For history, art and architecture visit the captivating city of Siena, around 35 minutes from the Hamlet. Immerse yourself in the rich political and religious history or simply drink in the cafe culture, watching passers-by from behind your cappuccino.

Florence, merely an hour away, is a cosmopolitan shopping paradise. The romantic hill town nicknamed 'medieval Manhattan', San Gimignano, boasts spectacular views over Elsa Valley. Art galleries, wine shops and delightful restaurants adorn the manicured streets, 45 minutes from the Hamlet.
