Antica Fattoria

The first thing that affects the visitors of Antica Fattoria is without doubt the solemnity of the square, where the Villa dominates the scene, majestic and eternal, framed by trees and the houses that surround this small courtyard and church. In fact, this place is amazing for countryside lovers but for those who also loves the sea; just within a short distance you will have them both under hands. 

Fattoria is one of the oldest historic farms that lies between the low hills of the Tuscan Maremma in a spectacular landscape with olive trees, wine yards and fields of golden grain. It’s framed in a land of rare beauty: Mount Argentario and the two narrow sand bars called Giannella and Feniglia that cordon off the magnificent lagoon. From the Earth to the lagoons, a look at the sea and then back to the ground. The company is spread on an area of about 200 hectares of which about 60 are destined to vineyards, 40 to fruit production, 20 to the horticultural, 22 to the olive plants, and the remaining are divided between arable land and growing nurseries. 

At the Antica Fattoria you can say "I do" in the fascinating and beautiful church, or the ceremony can take place in the garden, followed by aperitif and wedding dinner in the square or garden.

Walking through the long avenue of Eucalyptus lies the heart of the company, a small square protected by majestic Plane trees and surrounded by the buildings that now house the rooms, suite, and apartments, the Restaurant, the company offices and the nineteenth-century church.

The rooms available to our guests are inside the old manor house, dating back to 1200 b.c., which has been home to the owners and their employees since 1830.

Our guest can enjoy the spare time in the panoramic roof terrace on the second floor or in the beautiful porch looking over the garden and its swimming pool. On the back of the Manor house extends the restaurant garden, surrounded by orange and Kumquat trees, with a panoramic view and on which faces an arcade in typical mansion summer style.

Every product, from pasta to desserts, is made by hand: the restaurant combines the tradition of ancient recipes with the priority use of the products produced in the farm, offering authentic cuisine at very low impact, which can be enjoyed in the spacious garden or within the nineteenth-century dining room. The owners strongly support the use of “km 0” products and can offer a gastronomic high quality thanks to the wide range of farm products largely organic. The farm proudly offers food options that are good for guests, good for the community and good for the planet. Naturally some ingredients are purchase from Maremma’s selected meat, game and fish producers, what they do not directly produce. Organic production is a production system that relies on several objectives and principles, as well as common practices, designed to minimize the human impact on the environment, while ensuring the agricultural system operates as naturally as possible. 

Visit of the historic wine cellar followed by tasting in the garden, or the dairy provides the most tasteful cheeses, organic extra virgin olive oil, honey, jams and marmalades, pasta, flour, fruit juices, bread, and cakes and of course all the tasteful vegetables and herbs from the garden.
